Save the Children is recruiting an experienced Program Coordinator DEVCO  who will responsible for the overall program coordination of the implementation of a 3-year Institutional strengthening programme funded by the EU aimed at foster Early Warning System and Response capacity building in 11 countries in West-Africa.  The project will seek to reinforce civil society and regional / national institutions through the transfer of expertise, support for the sustainable appropriation of methodologies and processes to ensure the quality and reliability of analysis and participation within the PREGEC system.

The programme is led by SCI and seeks to be implemented in consortium with 2 other international partners (Oxfam and ACF), 11 government’s entities and regional institutions.

The Program Coordinator DEVCO who will responsible for the overall program coordination and reporting of all the activities, scatted over the whole consortium. This role will also contribute to partner oversight, contract-related administration, budget monitoring and day to day follow up activities to be conducted. He/she will report to the Program Manager to follow up on partner contracts, financial disbursements, reporting, consultancy contracts, and other program related tasks.  This person will also work closely with the Country leads, technical experts, HEA specialists and external experts from partners and liaise with related SC Country Offices, SC support services in order to facilitate and fast track all requests needed for program delivery (travel, admin support, report proof reading, etc.).  The Program Coordinator will work in close coordination with counterparts at regional, country and partner levels.

Job requirements

  • Graduate and/or Master’s degree in project management, international studies, administrative management and other related subject matters.

Experience and Skills

  • 3 to 5 years in a project management position
  • Proven experience of working with National and Regional Institutions, International organizations, Civil Society organizations especially within the Food Crisis Prevention and Response System
  • Experience with data driven programme, data analysis related to food security and economy analysis with a complex setup of multi-actors in multi-countries for data collection and analysis
  • Experience in report writing and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with and influence others and build strong working relationship
  • Excellent organizational capacities, as well as planning; Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple tasks, and deliver to time
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • Good level in English and French
  • Commitment to child rights and sustainable development
  • Commitment to the aims and principles of SC. In particular, a good understanding of the SC mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support 

Contract length: 03 Years
