Job description
Receives oral instructions or work order concerning work to be done and proceeds to accomplish the necessary maintenance, repair or installation of the equipment in accordance with established trade practices and methods. May direct the work of a trade helper. May drive a light truck to transport tools, equipment and materials to the work site.
Job requirements
- Experience: One year of journeyman mechanic experience is required.
- Job knowledge: Must have full journeyman mechanic knowledge of established practices and procedures in the specific trade involved.
- Education Requirements: Completion of elementary school is required. Completion of vocational training or apprenticeship recognized as producing journeyman mechanic experience is required.
- Language: Level I English ability is required.
- Skills and abilities: Must be able to use all tools of the trade. Local driver’s license is required.
