IOTA Group is looking for a Trainee engineer
Job Responsibilities
Under supervision, deliver discipline specific design that meets the client’s and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. Understand and be able to interpret basic process and engineering facilities drawings such as; UFDs, PFDs, MFDs, & P&IDs, GA’s, Plans and Elevations.
- Understand and be able to describe the basic oil and gas production processes and be familiar with simple terminology (Platform, Well head, Deck, FPSO, etc). Know basic AutoCAD drafting techniques and be able to produce drawings of low and medium complexities.
- Assist Senior Engineer in preparing simple engineering data sheets from given equipment data. Use of MS applications software, at least to 65-70% proficiency level.
- Be able to recognize and understand engineering symbols and their uses.
- Under supervision, perform design on projects requirements on time and within budget
- Under supervision, perform discipline specific design such as; identify and report changes to project scope; prepare engineering drawings and documentation
- Establish and maintain good working relationships within contractor personnel, with its clients and other stakeholders
- Identify issues and problems and ask for assistance when required.
- Perform any other responsibility as may be required by the Contractor management

- Understand basic Process and Engineering facility drawings like P&IDs, GAs etc and also able to interpret simple terminologies like platform, well head etc and also able to produce basic AUTOCAD Drawings.
- Able to know different basic engineering symbols and their uses.
- Conversant with MS Word and should be able to prepare simple engineering data sheet and Engineering equipment list.
- Serviceability, safety and operability of designs. Client liaison.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- 1 – 2 years relevant work experience
