US Embassy Dakar hiring Regional Financial Specialist
Salary: 29,275,409 FCFA/year
The Regional Financial Management Specialist is responsible for providing expert advice, assistance and audit of all phases of budget and financial programs relating to overseas posts’ financial operations. The incumbent is responsible for duties at both the “home post” of Dakar and Dakar’s constituent posts. May also be assigned to assist a separate post (other “serviced post”). The incumbent reports directly to the Senior Financial Management Officer. The incumbent travels frequently to constituent posts, approximately 40% of the year, and may take on financial management responsibilities from the Management Officer while at those posts.
Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in Financial Management including 5 with the U.S. Government or an international organization (or combination)is required. Work experience must include a minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience.
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, financial management, business management, or local equivalent is required.
Language: English and French level 4 (speaking reading and writing) are required. (This may be tested.)

Excellent writing and oral skills. Ability to develop objective, thorough and meaningful reports. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to train and motivate a team. Ability to understand sophisticated mathematical techniques. Must be able to travel frequently and perform effectively in difficult environments.
