Our Mission
The problem: In 2017, nearly 60% of adults in sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That’s for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
How we’re solving it: We’re building financial services to work as they should: no account fees, instantly available and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don’t always function, we’re creating financial infrastructure that « just works. » In fall 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments; we’re now processing over 200k payments every month. How you’ll help us achieve it
We’re looking for payroll Admin Assistant who’s resourceful, organized and proactive about getting things done. You will be responsible for Human Resources tasks, including payroll under the supervision of the Admin and Payroll manager as we rapidly scale our business in Senegal.
Job description
In this role, you’ll:
- Keep up to date the employee Master Data via our HRIS
- Prepare contracts and everything in relation with labour inspection.
- Be the Wave’s focal point at the social security and the retirement authorities .
- Assist in making sure our new staff are signed onto our existing health insurance plan.
- Others tasks may be added to this list
Key details
- Location: You’ll work from our office in Dakar.
- You must have a work authorization in Senegal
- Full-term contract with a one month’s trial.
Requirements
- Advanced level in English – this role will interact regularly with non-French/French speakers.
- Good communication skills in French
- Good Knowledge of the Senegal labour law
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience
- Master or equivalent degree in Human Resources but we value more the experience than the degree so if you’re experienced, just jump in!
- Good computer skills especially in Word and Excel
