We are looking for a:

Commercial Information System Trainee within our Sales Department

Key responsibilities

If you are a fast learner, result-oriented and good at dealing with tight deadlines then you are the one! We want you for our internship in Philip Morris Manufacturing Senegal based in Dakar.

As an intern in our department, you will team up with the Commercial Planning team, within the Sales Department to:

  • Produce periodic and ad-hoc reports with critical analysis on market trends, the performance of sales volume, trade program and brand initiative.
  • Assist the Manager Commercial Planning and Trade Strategy to continuously improve the reporting formats and contents to ensure optimal efficiency, reliability of the reporting and to better reflect business needs.
  • Assist on the development of management report structure and layout that translates the data and analysis into useful materials and reader friendly format to increase efficiency in providing management with accurate and timely sales related information.
  • Ensure Field Sales Force (FSF) performance results are analyzed to facilitate the planning of trade execution coverage to maximize effectiveness.
  • Assist Manager to perform ad hoc analysis reporting based on management requirement.
  • Consolidate collected market information by using current commercial information system and reports from FSF, within the defined scope, format and deadlines.
  • Provide analytical assistance in preparation and consolidation of presentations (Commercial Plan, Task force project, OB…)
  • Coordinate with Sales Admin in preparing working materials (data) of any workshop, taskforce, meeting, etc.

On the other side, you will learn how the sales department contributes to the business and its success. You will engage with the Department and with all the employees to add value to the collective innovative thinking. You will actively participate in Sales events.

As part of the Sales team, we expect you to be a problem-solver with a high motivation to help the team achieve its objectives. Learning on the job is part of the experience and your ability to quickly absorb new concepts and technics is paramount to your success.

Key qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or any other related field
  • Good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint of reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.)
  • Pro-activity and drive for results
  • Planning, Presentation & Communication skills
  • Ability to report to different stakeholders with various expectations
  • Fluent in both written and spoken French and English
