Executive Assistant to CEO & Project Operations Associate (Yoonu Leer)

Blockchain Node Operator & Mining Pool Architect – Yoonu Leer Project

Position Title: Engineering Manager – EPCM Projects

  • Location: Dakar HQ with periodic travel to rural project sites and partner offices
  • Company: Eclipse Holdings (Senegal | USA)
  • Employment Type: Full time, Internship, 6 Months Contract

About the Role

Eclipse Holdings is building next generation infrastructure that fuses renewable energy, Bitcoin backed productive use of energy (PUE), and high performance digital assets. Our flagship program, Yoonu Leer, deploys containerized solar + BESS + mining units to unlock affordable power for off grid communities. We are scaling from pilot to multi MW portfolios across West Africa and beyond.

Why This Role Matters

We are assembling a multidisciplinary engineering team, civil/structural, electromechanical, , and digital integration to deliver EPCM mandates faster and leaner than traditional utilities.

The Engineering Manager sits at the fulcrum of design excellence, field execution, and strategic growth, ensuring every kilowatt and every bitcoin mined translates into reliable power and economic uplift for rural Africans.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and technically review the work of civil/structural and electromechanical engineers.
  • Approve calculations, drawings, and specifications; sign off on design deliverables for FEED studies, detailed design, and “as-built” documentation.
  • Champion integrated BIM/PLM workflows (AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks, GT STRUDL, FEA tools) and enforce QA/QC processes throughout the design cycle.

Project Execution

  • Develop and manage multidisciplinary engineering schedules, budgets, and resource plans for multiple EPCM projects (ranging from
  • 1 MW prototype to a 50 MW deployment program).
  • Interface with procurement teams, vendors, and fabricators to secure long-lead items (e.g., containers, switchgear, cooling skids).
  • Support construction and commissioning teams by resolving RFIs, conducting site walkdowns, and updating redlined drawings.

Standards & Compliance

  • Establish a centralized Eclipse design standard library integrating US (IBC, ASCE, NEC), Senegalese/ECOWAS codes, and international best practices.
  • Promote a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) culture through design-for-safety reviews and construction risk assessments.
  • Maintain change management and document control procedures aligned with ISO 9001/14001 standards.

Stakeholder Liaison

  • Act as the technical representative of Eclipse Holdings with utilities (Ministry of Energy, Senelec, ASER), financial partners (AFD, World Bank, EXIM), and regulatory bodies.
  • Communicate complex engineering decisions in accessible terms for investors, government officials, and community stakeholders.

Innovation & Talent Building

  • Promote modular, factory-built design principles, additive manufacturing (where applicable), and data-driven operations and maintenance (O&M) feedback loops.
  • Coach junior engineers on design thinking, site constraints, and the use of modern digital tools.
  • Identify skill gaps and support recruitment, internship programs, and upskilling initiatives in collaboration with local universities.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree: B.S. in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (M.S. or MBA a plus).
  • Experience: 8 + years on EPC/EPCM or large scale industrial projects, with ≥ 3 years in a lead or management capacity (renewables, power, data centres, or heavy industry preferred).
  • Multidisciplinary Depth: Working literacy across structural, electrical, mechanical, and controls disciplines; able to interrogate FEA outputs, one line diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Tools: Proficiency in a mix of design/analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks, ETAP/SKKM, STAAD/SAP 2000, ANSYS/FEA) and project controls (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
  • Codes & Standards: Familiar with IBC/ASCE/AISC/ACI and IEC/IEEE/NEC or equivalent utility standards.
  • Languages: Professional fluency in English and French (Wolof an advantage).
  • Mobility: Willing to travel 20–30 % to rural or international sites, sometimes at short notice.

Preferred Extras

  • Track record delivering containerised or modular power solutions microgrids, or data centre infrastructure.
  • Prior collaboration with utilities, MCC, multilateral donors, or IPP frameworks.
  • Exposure to Bitcoin mining, high‐density computing cooling
  • PMP, PE/Chartered Engineer, or similar professional registration or certification.

Success Traits

  • Systems Thinker, and societal impact.
  • Builder Coach Hybrid – balances hands on problem solving with empathetic team leadership.
  • Bias for Execution – turns 80 % solutions into field ready hardware on aggressive timelines.
  • Clear Communicator – converts technical depth into persuasive narratives for non engineers.
  • Mission Driven – excited by rural electrification, financial inclusion, and African engineering excellence.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation.
  • Fast growth environment where your decisions ripple across national energy strategy.
  • Cross continental teamwork with top engineers, financiers, and policymakers.
  • A chance to write the playbook for scalable, climate positive infrastructure in Africa.
