Preferred background
- Analyst / Associate in a Strategy consulting firm, or similar role with Accelerators or Incubators University Degree
- 2-4 years of experience
- Passion for and knowledge of Africa and Start ups
Main skills
- Team player with the capacity of managing and coordinating various stakeholders Financial and Entrepreneurial culture
- Organizational skills and familiar with productivity tools (ideally slack, zoom, google suite) and social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
- Good in building social relationships and with strong communication (oral and written) skills
- Fluency in French and English
The Role of the Investment Officer
The Investment Manager will be responsible for the effective operation of the investments made by the DNA investments
We are seeking an Investment Manager who brings:
Investment Strategy and Deal Flow Sourcing
- Support defining the types of investments members would like to make – the DNA investment strategy
- Identify and nurture relevant sources of investment opportunities
- Coordinate the entrepreneur application process and platform
Investment screening and pitching
- With DNA Exco and Members, screen and select entrepreneurs to pitch
- Rehearse entrepreneurs
- Help prepare and run and do follow ups of regular meetings of the DNA members and startups
- Investment process
- Manage due diligence processes with the contribution of the DNA members and Exco
- Help negotiate and prepare legal documents for potential investment opportunities
- Summarize findings to communicate to DNA Members, gather investment interest and help execute the investment
Portfolio Tracking and Management
- Set up tracking system for invested companies and manage the process for investment reporting
- Identify collaboration opportunities with partners across the globe in order to co-invest, fund our activities, support our portfolio companies, etc.
- Communicate with investor members and portfolio investment companies to create value for the portfolio companies and facilitate follow-on rounds and exits
